New York State Law and related Documents that formed the
Cuba Lake District (CLD):

Laws of New York, 1981
-
Chapter 263. (Note this .pdf file has
bookmarks and is word searchable.) This is
the basic document that formed a special
district identified as the CLD.

Laws of New York, 1981 -
Chapter 264. This document provided the
Commissioner of General Services(CGS) to "sell
and convey" the State lands around the lake to
the counties, towns or a "special district".

Laws of New York, 1983 -
Chapter 644. This document amends the above
Chapter 264, 1981 to allow the CGS to "sell and
convey or lease" said lands to any
of the said entities.

Laws of New York, 2003 -
Chapter 312. This document amends the
above Chapter 263, 1981 to add the lands
required for the Munger Creek sediment basin, to
the description of the Districts Lands.

Management Agreement:
(This document is word searchable.)

This document is the "contract" between the Cuba
Lake District and the Office of General
Administration (OGS). The agreement has a
term of 5 years. This is the latest
version as signed by the parties November 6,
2006. The document is up for renewal by
November 6, 2011. The renewal process
usually begins early in the year of contract.

The document basically provides the funds from
an established "Cuba Lake Management Fund"
available to the District to be used as provided
for in the agreement.

Documents Associated with the Lands Returned to the
Seneca Nation of Indians (SNI):

Cooperative Management Agreement (CMA)
between the Seneca Nation of Indians and the
State of New York (assignable to the Cuba Lake
District) provides details of the working
relationships between the SNI and the CLD.
This is Exhibit A of the "Consent Decree- Final
Judgment" listed below.

The "Easement"
is Exhibit B of the "Consent Decree - Final
Judgment" and covers the land encompassing the
spillway for operation and maintenance as
provided for under the CMA.

"Consent
Decree- Final Judgment" finalizes the
agreement for the return of the defined lands to
the Seneca Nation of Indians. The document

Northern border of the SNI reservation and maps
the easement area.
